Summary:
Stelios is a nervous but ultimately reliable astrologian who seeks to carve a place for himself in Eorzea as an adventurer, having came to the land from Garlemald where he was raised. With his head often dedicated to his studies, Stelios is quite prone to daydreaming which sees him into many an awkward circumstance. His friends and allies are used to snapping him out of this daze, and making sure he doesn’t run into trouble while his mind wanders, as one too many a time has he put himself in a vulnerable position with his head in the clouds, usually musing over his studies in astrology or dreaming about seeing Ala Mhigo. To those who don’t know him well, it’s a wonder he’s an adventurer at all with how his head seems to always be in the clouds, but those closer to him understand that he is desperate to learn so that he might put that knowledge to use in defence of the realm, and finally connect with his Ala Mhigan family, having renounced his connection to Garlemald.
Backstory
Note: Backstory lore may be revised over time since I am only in Stormblood at the moment.Born to a Garlean father and an Ala Mhigan mother, Stelios was taken back to be raised in Garlemald by his grandfather at his mother’s request, hoping to spare him the harsh servitude he would face under the occupation forces. His father, being a soldier of the empire, had found a change of heart during the time spent with his new family, but could not dare to refuse the orders of his superiors which demanded his cruelty towards them, as it would mean death for him, and them. Despite being half Garlean, Stelios had no third eye to show for it. To his peers, this was a sign of inferiority which would be lorded over him all through his time in Garlemald.Eventually his Grandfather passed away from untreated illness, as Stelios could not make ends meet to afford proper care, shattering any remaining illusions he had of living under the Imperial boot. He made for Eorzea, not long after the dragon song war came to an end, having seen the stirrings of a revolt against the occupation in Ala Mhigo. While he sought to reunite with his Mother, Stelios knew he had not the strength or skill to be of use to the revolution, so instead he joined up with the Athenaeum Astrologicum in Ishgard following its boom in reputation following a number of symposiums.Stelios came to be a quick learner in the ways of astrology, devoting himself to his studies with every spare moment, both out of fascination and of a desperation to join the Ala Mhigan resistance. Once word got around of the massacre at Baelar’s Wall, Stelios’ pursuit of astrology became fervent, as he internally cursed himself for not having been there to prevent such a disaster. It was in part his desire to aid the homeland he’d never known, and the guilt of growing up in the midst of its oppressors that drove him into his studies so feverishly.With a goodbye to his friends in Ishgard, Stelios made his way to join up with the resistance once the Eorzean Alliance had offered their support, accompanying the Ishgardian force on the path to Ala Mhigo.

Personality
Note: Again, still ironing out details on the character, will be updated as I go :)Stelios was quite reserved from a young age as he was always treated as lesser by his peers. Since coming to Eorzea however, Stelios has slowly but surely been regaining his confidence, though he can still struggle socially at times. Typically, he will be quite found with his head in a book, his mind never far from his pursuit of knowledge, even when he should be focusing elsewhere.Stelios is honest to a fault and a bit of a people pleaser, another trait picked up from his childhood in Garlemald. While he can stand up for himself perfectly fine against anyone acting aggressive or rude, he will be a bit more blind to anything manipulative or inconsiderate when done by those he cares about, leading to him letting himself get walked over just to keep others happy.Otherwise, Stelios is quite cheery and inquisitive, always taking an interest in the world around him, often harassing his allies and peers with questions at a mile a minute, which can result in him not taking in all the detail in his haste. His deep passion for culture and the arts wherever he goes serves him well in earning the favour of many groups, as he is likely to have looked into their traditions and beliefs to some degree before meeting them.
